New Delhi, Jan 14: Aam Aadmi Party’s membership drive is receiving unprecedented success with around ten lakh people already joining the party fold by Tuesday and the target to touch the figure of 1 crore will be achieved within the time frame, said the senior leader Gopal Rai today.

Within four days of the launch of the open-for-all campaign ‘Main Bhi Aam Aadmi’, nearly ten lakh people have attained the membership of the party and many more will join ‘AAP’ in the next few days, said Rai, overall incharge of the drive.

He said people from most of the areas in the country are eager to connect with the party and the numbers will increase significantly within the next few days.

Those interested in attaining the membership can SMS their name, STD code and name of their Vidhan Sabha to 07798220033 / 08082807715 / 08082807716 following which an SMS will be sent with the membership number. The process can also be done by following online form at www.aamaadmiparty.org where details need to be entered to become a member.

If one gives a missed call on the either of the above mentioned numbers, an SMS will be sent back to the caller that will guide him or her to send the information required for the membership. Besides this, the membership form can be downloaded from the party’s website, printed, made copies of and distributed among other people -friends or relatives. People who do not own mobile phones can become members after January 17, 2014 wherein an option will be created on the website that will ask for the individual’s voter ID number instead of mobile phone.

The 'moral membership' will cease to exist when a person gets involved in activities against the party’s ideology, he said.

The party launched the free membership drive from the Friday, 10th and it will continue till January 26, 2014.

Rai said the success of AAP has brought hope to the people as they feel politics is coming closer to them due to which lakhs of people want to get associated with the party to bring about a change.

Members of ‘AAP’ who belong to different social strata have appealed to the people to join the party in huge numbers and to take the ‘Main Bhi Aam Aadmi’ campaign to maximum number of people.
